Hello again from the Philippines!
It's been a little over a month since I last wrote a report and a lot of exciting things have happened since then. We had a session end and a new one begin, a seminar, and a bunch of other activities so I shall get started.
We closed out session 5 here at the Bible Study Center on September 13. At the end of every session we have a small graduation "party" for all the students who graduate from our courses here. This last session we had a good group of students. We printed 30 certificates! It is always encouraging to see people interested in studying Gods word.
At the BSC (Bible Study Center) not only do we offer classes for people who are not members of the Lord's church but we also have classes specifically designed for church members. One of these classes is a teacher training course for people who would like to have a chance to teach here at the BSC. Well as part of my training I am taking this class under my dad. One thing that is so encouraging is there are 8 of us in the class. It is nice to see so many members interested in teaching.
As most of you know the Bible Study Center sends "The Messenger", a bimonthly printed newsletter, out to you folks back in the states. Well this last month we had a meeting to plan our articles within the letter and I was given the opportunity to write my very first article, which was on our youth group! It is so exciting to be part of the Full-time Bible Study Center staff. Keep an eye out for my article in the coming edition of "The Messenger"! If you are not on the mailing list and would like to be added to it please let me know! We would love for you to receive a copy.
We have a tradition here at the Bible Study Center that at the beginning of every session we have a 3-day seminar on a topic that sparks the interest of people and attracts new students. This seminar Dad (Barry Murrell) spoke on the topic of, "Was the PROTESTANT REFORMATION from God or from Men?" We had about 30 people attend and very forceful and dynamic speaking (grin).
